A Family Vacation - Monday

Monday morning after microwave oatmeal since the stove wasn't working, we got up and took a walk to the coffee store in southwest harbor since we didn't buy filters for the coffee maker. It was shaping up to be an ominous day. 

Then the brakes in our car were making a terrible groaning noise. We hadn't heard any screeching but you never know what the valet people at the Harbor Hotel were doing with our hot rod of a car. We took the car to Bob's in the middle of nowhere in MDI. Bob was the bomb though and told us the car would survive, we just had to skedaddle for most of the day and why not take all 4 children on a mile plus walk to the free shuttle to go check out Bar Habor.

We had a good time in Bar Harbor though and took a shoreline walk around after eating sandwiches near the water. It hot though for Maine.we felt parched most of the day after not filling our water bottles up enough. 

We made it back to the car eventually and had enough time to go to echo lake, have dinner, do s'mores and watch Santa Claus 3!  (now that is a great movie) A good day with an interesting start.

We managed to tire him out.
